The CGA Program of Professional Studies is open to people with a variety of educational backgrounds, including those with:

·         a secondary school diploma

·         post-secondary credits

·         a bachelor’s degree

·         a foreign education

Although students can begin the program from various educational backgrounds, all students in the CGA program must also complete a bachelor’s degree before earning their CGA designation. The CGA Association has developed partnerships with various post-secondary institutions to allow students to study for their CGA designation and bachelor’s degree concurrently.

Request a Program of Professional Studies

Students who have previously completed an accounting or other business program at a post-secondary educational institution can transfer credits and enter the CGA program with advanced standing.

Transfer Credits

You may qualify for transfer credits if you have passed written examinations in courses considered to be equivalent to CGA courses (i.e., from university commerce programs, recognized college business programs or courses offered by other professional associations). Transfer credits are not granted from private colleges. Requests for transfer credits will be reviewed upon submission of the Student Admission Form.
