Norrman Lockyer, FCGA (President)

Director of Finance and Administration -O'Neil Fisheries

 

Norman Lockyer received his designation from CGA Newfoundland and Labrador 26 years ago. In 1988 he transferred to CGA Nova Scotia and has since been an active participant in the association at a local level and then, in 2000 joining the CGA Nova Scotia Board of Directors. He has chaired the Awards, Audit, Legislation and Education Committees and was the Nova Scotia representative on the Board of CGA Student Services – Maritime Region. More Recently he has been Treasurer, 2nd Vice President and 1st Vice President of the Association 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Donald Connor, CGA (Executive Director)

Executive Director - CGA Nova Scotia 

Don holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount Allison University and a Masters in Business Administration from Dalhousie University. He has worked with CGA Alberta as Director of Business Development and Admissions and most recently with CGA Nova Scotia as Executive Director. 

 

 

 

 

 

 Roger Boutilier, CGA (1st Vice President)

Director of Finance and Administration - Nova Scotia Association of Realtors

Roger earned a BBA degree from MSVU in 1993 and received his CGA designation in Nova Scotia in 1999. Roger is currently working towards his MBA. He joined the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS® (NSAR) in 2004, where he is responsible for strategic financial planning, budgeting and financial reporting to its Board of Directors. Prior to joining NSAR, Roger worked in private industry for a SME as Controller. Roger has been part of the CGA NS Board of Directors since October 2005. 

 

 

 

 

 

Kayhan Lotfi, CGA (2nd Vice President)

Public Practitoner - Accounting Solutions

  

Kayhan obtained a Masters degree in accounting in 1980 and his Certified General Accountant designation in 2001. Kayhan has worked in the accounting and auditing field since 1972,  in both small and large size corporations holding such positions as Controller or Chief Financial Officer. Currently he is working in Public Practice where he owns his own company, Accounting Solutions, which is located on the Bedford Highway.

 

  

 

 

 

 

 

Alisa Aymar (Treasurer)

Manager of Financial Services - Comeau's Sea Food Limited

 

Alisa is serving her second year on the Board of Directors for CGA Nova Scotia after having served as a committee member on the Finance – Strategic Planning and Programs committees. She completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University in 1994, with a double major in Accounting and Finance and a minor in French and received her Certified General Accountant designation in 2005.  Alisa is an active volunteer in her community and holds the position of Secretary-Treasurer for the Meteghan Marina Association.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Don Larlee, FCGA (Past President)

 Vice President Finance and

Information Technology -  Trade Centre Ltd. 

 Mr. Larlee, currently works for Trade Centre Limited, a Provincial Crown Corporation that operates the World Trade and Convention Centre, Exhibition Park and the Halifax Metro Centre. He began employment there in 1980, the same year in which he received his CGA designation. Previously he has worked in private industry and public practice,  and has served as a volunteer for a variety of community organizations.  He is a member of Financial Executives International (Atlantic Chapter) and has served as a Director and Treasurer and he has served on the Board of CGA Nova Scotia since 2002.

 

 

 

 

 

Jim Cooke, CGA 

Vice President Finance - Sobeys Atlantic

“I knew having the CGA designation would allow me to control my own financial career path by providing me with the varied financial skills required by all organizations"

    

Jim Cooke holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Saint Mary’s University  along with his CGA Designation. He joined Sobeys Inc. in 1999 and was appointed to his current position in June 2005 where he is now responsible for strategic financial planning, budgeting, financial reporting, retail accounting, internal control, disclosure control and process improvement for Sobeys in Atlantic Canada. Prior to joining Sobeys, Mr. Cooke held various financial accounting, reporting and process improvement positions at the Oshawa Group

Harold Aucoin, CGA

Public Practitioner - Harold Aucoin Tax Services

Harold Patrick Aucoin, has been in public practice since 1987. With extensive experience in auditing, taxation, financial reporting, and management consulting, as well as, providing tax advisory services to other accounting, financial, and legal professionals.  Mr. Aucoin is also a member of the Public Accountants Board of Nova Scotia (PABNS).

  

 

 

  

 

 

 

Margarita Clayton, CGA

Project Leader/Internal Audit Division - Canada Revenue Agency

Margarita Clayton came to Canada from Moscow, Russia, in 1993. She successfully completed MBA program at Dalhousie University and obtained her degree in 1997. Margarita became CGA in 1999 and completed her certification as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) in 2002. Margarita has worked in the private industry in Russia and Canada, with international non-profit organizations and is currently employed by the Federal Government of Canada (CRA and Health Canada). 


  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rene Grise, CGA

Manager of Administrative Servies

Nova Scotia Community College

 

René received his CGA designation in Québec in 1995. As well, he has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from École des Hautes Études Commerciales, affiliated with the Université de Montréal.  Since 1997, René has been working for the Nova Scotia Community College as Manager of Administrative Services covering the South West region. On January 2nd, 2007, he has relocated to the new NSCC Waterfront Campus in Dartmouth.  Committed to lifelong learning, René has participated in a number of committees and projects in the education sector, and has been part of our CGA Board of Directors since October 2006.

 

 

 
 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jennifer Keating Hubley 

 

 

Deputy Treasurer - Region of Queens Municipality

 
 
Jennifer joined the Board of Directors for CGA Nova Scotia, during the 2004/2005 year. She is chair of the audit committee, and having previously been co-chair, she now serves as a member of the marketing committee.  After graduating from high school, Jennifer completed the two-year accounting program offered by the Nova Scotia Community College.  Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Accounting Sciences degree from the University of Calgary in 2003, and received her CGA designation in 2004.
