"Next to the day I married my lovely wife Donna, the day I enrolled in the CGA program was the most significant day in my life. The CGA program and designation has been instrumental in my personal and corporate growth and development. It has provided me with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to take me on a career path from an Accounting Clerk to President of A.A. Munro Insurance, one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in Atlantic Canada."
"I started my CGA journey in 1986 while living in St. John’s, NF. I chose the program because it allowed me to combine work and study. The correspondence style of learning allowed me the flexibility to learn at my pace and apply my knowledge on the job immediately."
"While the program has a significant self-study component I received a tremendous amount of support and encouragement along the way. I received my CGA designation in September 1991 and as a result of the Strategic partnership between CGA and Athabasca University I was able to complete my MBA in June 2006. The combination of CGA and MBA has resulted in my introduction of many strategic initiatives that have contributed to our company’s growth and development."

"Flexibility and a focus on skill-based learning were the reasons why I pursued my CGA designation. My passion has always been the field of education. I was able to continue to do what I enjoyed while at the same time complete a program of professional studies and earn my CGA. The competencies that I developed have been instrumental in helping me achieve my career goals."
"By being a CGA, my employer and colleagues instantly recognize that I have an in-depth and comprehensive base of knowledge and an approach to decision making that is principle-based. Now, as President and Ha member of the Senior Leadership Forum of the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), I am able to match the abilities and talents that I developed by being a CGA with a job that I truly love."

Larry Corrigan is Vice President, Finance at Saint Mary's University. He is also a part-time Auditing Professor in the Sobey School of Business. Larry was previously Commissioner of Corporate Services at Halifax Regional Municipality and Chief Administrative Officer of the City of Dartmouth.
“The CGA designation has helped a great deal in my career. Effective municipal and university administration depends on having the trust of others in the organization and community. When you are responsible for spending someone else’s money, they need to know you are reliable. People know about CGA professional training and code of ethics. The CGA standard is set very high, but is well worth the investment because of the instant recognition that it brings.”
