CGA Logo Usage

CGA Nova Scotia, along with CGA Canada and the other 12 provincial and territorial affiliates, adopted a logo/wordmark in 2001 that will be used by the national, provincial and territorial affiliates to continue to build awareness of the designation.

The mark was chosen to symbolize the progressive approach of certified general accountants (CGAs). It also helps to distinguish CGAs from other accounting designations.

How to Use the CGA Logo/Wordmark

Configuration and Clear Space

The combined elements of the symbol and wordmark, and their specific relationship to each other, present the core identity for the Certified General Accountants of Nova Scotia.
Specifically, when reproducing these logos, the word-mark for the association must be treated consistently.

To make sure our logos are not accidentally misrepresented, they are surrounded on all sides by a specific amount of clear space. This clear space is defined as the height of the letter “G,” on all sides of the logo. When the logos are reproduced this area must be kept clear of all graphics or copy except on pre-approved low-contrast backgrounds. This clear space must be maintained when the logos are placed against an edge.

Minimum Size

Minimum size for our logo is 7/8" in height.

Imagery

The ideal image for CGAs and the Certified General Accountants of Nova Scotia:
is dynamic and has movement
features more than one person interacting
is in high contrast black and white
it positive and engaging
shows a diverse group of people
is authentic and not overly posed
has an editorial feel

Colours

The colours that appear in our logo represent our unique visual identity PMS 286 is the master corporate colour. The secondary colour palette supports the corporate blue, including PMS 306, PMS 432 and PMS 138.

Font Usage

The fonts we use in our communication materials form an integral part of our identity. Consistent use of our typefaces improves recognition in the marketplace and the effectiveness of our communications. All printed materials should appear in Franklin Gothic Demi, and all electronic communications (faxes, letterhead, memos, e-mail, website) are to appear in Arial.

Logo Colour Usage
To ensure consistency of all communications, logo usage is only permitted to be printed in full colour for coloured documents and in black and white for one-colour documents.

Improper Logo Usage
Do not rearrange or scale the individual brand elements or alter the relationship between them. Do not substitute a font in the wordmark. Do not alter, distort, or animate the logos, and never attempt to redraw them.
