A Reputation of Excellence and Integrity
Protecting the public interest and the integrity and value of the CGA brand is top priority for the Association. The Province of Nova Scotia charges the Association, as a self-regulating body, to establish, promote and enforce professional competency and ethical standards though practice reviews and the complaint review process.
Rigorous Professional Education
Our Program of Professional Studies educates and certifies the best accountants in the country. A revised certification model was implemented in 2006 to strengthen the Program further. CGAs must complete a post-secondary degree before certification.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
CGA Nova Scotia provides market-relevant CPD programming designed to improve skills and advance careers. CPD is delivered in the classroom, at special events, and online. CGA Nova Scotia participates in
PDNet, and online resource designed to serve the information and professional development needs of CGAs.
Protecting the Rights of Our Members
CGAs in Nova Scotia have full practice rights in Nova Scotia. We work with other CGA affiliates to promote and protect practice rights nationwide, and to protect our self-regulation. To be worthy of this, CGA Nova Scotia works to ensure that its members uphold the highest standards.
